Connection issues d-link dir-890l

I have the same issue as stated above with the dir-890l, Worked great for a bout 6-8 months but now has MAJOR connection issues. My mac pro see's the wifi signal but can't connect!!!! It will how ever connect every time to my wifi extender which sits beside me??????? Same with my wife's samsung phone,my lg tv and my tenants tv, despite the fact the extender is the furtherest away of the lot !!

anybody out there???? I might also add my iPad has no trouble at all connecting, which leads me to think it is the mac pro??? I will also add, this problem is random, and will affect the mac at any time and disconnects, sometimes it will happen 3 times while i am on line in a matter of minutes, and at other times its fine. Sometimes when i grab the mac, it just keeps hunting for the network even though it "shows" a strong signal.......
