Connection of a laptop with other PC?

I wish to transfer some data from my Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop to a desktop computer. How? It is sure that by USB with a cable, or it is possible to use the Internet connection? Please let me know how to do it. Speranta

Either buy an external hard drive, save data to that and then copy it to your desk top or

depending on the size of data and your usb transfer it that way - laoptop - usb - desktop

or upload it to some kind of drop box / cloud type program in the sky and then download to your desktop
