You cannot add Atmos to your receiver through your phone. There is a headphone simulation of Atmos, and a version of Atmos processing done by a receiver. Your phone doesn't add the processing to the receiver. It merely has the headphone simulation, intended for headphones.

Burtman I like Atmos. I have 5.1.2.
It really only works with Battlfield 1 and Battlefront. It's not a game changer. But it is nice, and adds to the sound bubble. It's enough to make me want 7.1.4.
With the new Windows CU update, it's supported inside windows too. The built in Windows video player can play Atmos videos files.

Honest opinion, What do you think about Atmos? I have a 7.4 system right now. My main speakers are definitive technology. Spent A lot of money on it. They sound amazing and love them, front speakers are bi-polar whatever you call it. BP 7004, BPX for sides and rears. Klipsch RF 12 inch, Velodyne Mini Vee for highs. Also two 8 inch subs in front main speakers. However I love upgrading so just wondering how you like atmos speakers
