i did recently upgrade my storage to a WD Blue 3D SSD. but i am mostly wondering about weither or not upgrading my motherboard is a viable idea.
and as it runs weither or not the existing components would be usable for said upgrade. like i said im looking mostly at Mobos but am open to all suggestions as i have never upgraded from 1 mobo to a new one(ive always just bought a new pc)

Solution
Changing a motherboard will make no difference unless you also change the processor.

Do you have a budget?
Is this pc used for gaming or batch production?

Here is a list of the processors your motherboard supports:
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-H61M-D2P-B3-rev-10/support#support-cpu
The strongest will be a i7-3770 or 3770K
You will get 4 more processing threads and quicker single thread performance.
A nice bump.
Past that, you are looking at not only a new cpu, but motherboard and ram also.

Well atm its more of a planned thing. But i would say like 500 max for ram , processor , mobo. I primarily use it for school work and gaming. Otherwise how much of a difference would i see with said processors? Or would it be more better to just save towards a new build / is this just that on the current one

Definately affordable and buildable so i take it with that said the current mobo isnt worth upgrading and i should get a newer one. Just for scale how much of a difference would I see (just for reference as if possible i can extend to like 600) because i play on a ps4 and stream and was mostly looking to take advantage of both platforms.

The current system cannot handle much more than wow , games like cod / secret world dont even load past the menu as it bogs down real fast. Im just curious as where it stands with the new mobo compared to new gen consoles how would it run along with the given if its closer to 500-600 what could i really push
