Hello. I'm planning to buy a budget (up to 200eur) TV or Monitor with TV function (could be an example "Samsung T24D391EW"). I don't need a SmartTV. A regular one is ok for me. Full HD (1920x1080) is preferred. 22-26" would be just fine.

I need it for watching TV and playing games from my Laptop. I don't have any fascinating graphic card - just a basic GeForce 720M 2 GB.

There are much more options for TV than for Monitor+TV for that price. Please advise me which option should I consider.

My "blanket" recommendation is to visit the manufacturer's websites (e.g., Samsung) and find the User Guides/Manuals for any products being considered. Peruse the manuals to see how the TV and/or Monitors must be connected and configured. Scan through any FAQs and Forums as well.

Learn more about the products and what problems other users are having. Get a sense for how the manufacturer responds to and handles such problems.

Compare the TV/Monitors input capabilities to your GeForce video card's outputs. See how well they compare and what options you may have. Do plan for and consider future changes.

Overall, you are likely to gain the most from a Monitor with TV functions. Monitor for gaming, TV for viewing.

Always trades-off: E.g., can you easy switch between Monitor and TV modes? Via a menu. Or will you need to unplug and re-plug the connecting cables?

Continue your research and what you are willing to accept with respect to functions and trade-offs.

Then you will have your answer.
