i am considering trying to capitalize on newegg or amazon for a an upgrade or two and the budget is roughly $700 american.
current setup is roughly 3 1/2 years old and i think i really have two paths either option a) do the mobo, ram and cpu, or do the gpu. i am considering upgrading doing the ram, mobo and cpu.

while currently running:
a ryzen 7 5700 x and looking at a ryzen 7 9700 x
a b550 mpg gaming plus + a stand alone wifi card and looking at the b650 edge wifi gaming plus & the rog strix a gaming wifi.
running 2x16 ddr4 cl18 3600 and looking at 2x16 ddr5 6000 cl 30.

current total for the ram, mobo and cpu would be around $600 + taxes versus the cheapest 16gb gpu is going to run at least $650 american.

also taking into account that [support for] windows 10 home pro 64 bit ends in october.

Assuming your reason for upgrading is primarily due to gaming, you can look into these;

What is the make and model of your PSU and it's age? Make and model of your case? Sig space specs can and will change over time and when that does happen this thread and it's relevant suggestions will be rendered moot, which is why we ask users to include them in their thread's body.

Asus tends to command a higher price tag.

decided to go with ryzen 7 9700x, msi b650 edge wifi, corsair vengeance ddr5 6000 cl 30, and picked up the arctic freezer 36 a-rgb for better cooling.

i'm worried about the cpu connector though. the boards manual shows only 1 12v 4+4 connector but the product page makes it sound like 2. if there is 2, then i will have to change my power supply as the thermaltake toughpower grand rgb 750w only has 1 slot for a 4+4.

ive been looking at the updated psu tier listing and pc part picker and i can only find a couple that have more than 1 12v 8 pin 4+4 eps connector. some older corsair 750 and 850 rme psu's and a couple that are wayyyy more than i want to spend.

what's the deal? as far as i understand 4+4 8 pins are not the same as 6+2's. so what am i missing here? why do so few have 4+4 connectors?

i ended up going with a thermaltake toughpower gt 850w snow because my old thermaltake toughpower grand rgb 750w would not support it on the b650 edge wifi no matter what i did. it was a giant pain in the butt.
