Considering new GPU and display

Hey guys, i am thinking about buying the new nvidia GTX 970 ASUS Strix version and a BenQ XL2411Z.
I am wondering if this is smart. The reason i am concerned is that i don't know very much about refresh and fps. I know the BenQ-screen has a refresh rate of 144hz, but am i able to feel the difference if the gpu isn't able to push 144hz in my games.

I don't think you notice anything over 60 fps anyway. Movies are only 24fps.

But is the Gtx 970 able to push the frames. That's also one of the things i am wondering about

It won't get 144fps in every game if that's what you're asking.
