Here is my build thread... http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/forum2.php?config=tomshardwareus.inc&cat=31&post=270076&page=1&p=1&sondage=0&owntopic=1&trash=0&trash_post=0&print=0&numreponse=0&quote_only=0&new=0&nojs=0

I think I'm pretty set on Why_me's i7 build, and now the question comes up on my new display. I am thinking that, instead of buying a dedicated monitor, I am going to get an LCD flatscreen, because for the size, there is little to no price difference, and I can use the TV screen to connect to my entertainment system and video game consoles. It seems like a pretty good idea to me, and I want your opinions.

Are there any brand names I should avoid? Any particular features I should set my eyes for? Where is a good place to buy? Should I even do this at ALL or should I just buy a monitor?

Please see my build thread for a list of criteria I look for. I will be doing some reading on this myself, but same as for my build thread, I want suggestions from the community. Please, give me any input you have!

Thank you.

My Samsung 32" 1080p Series 4 has 3 hdmi inputs and one slot for pc connection with 30,000:1 contrast ratio. It's just perfect for my needs especially tv viewing in which my cable provider only broadcasts sd channels. Even then the picture quality is still great which is very much better than the one on my old CRT unit. I think Samsung tv's are one of the best LCD TV as far as picture quality and budget are concerned.
