Considering round SATA Cables

I am planning my first build and have had several flat SATA cables fail. Is there any reason not to use round cables instead of flat?

Solution
My sense is that trying to spread out the fine wires in a round cable to fit into a flat SATA connector would be more problematic than "flat to flat".

However, it is more likely to be an issue of quality control than anything else, i.e., the geometry of round versus flat.

Not difficult to see the differences and quality of many modern day cables (of any sort) and their corresponding, older counterparts. Unfortunately the same holds for many products.....

Try other brand or source of flat SATA cables if you prefer to use them. Otherwise go "round" and see if they work out better. Really not that much cost involved when looking at the overall expense of a new build.
