Hello guys, I was thinking to change my ATI R9 290 for Christmas, which is a good upgrade to replace mine please? I won't use it in 4k, just the normal 1080 with a monitor 24",
Budget 350 euros.

Thank you :)

I´d stick with that card for a while more, it´s a good card and upgrading it for non 4k play won´t translate into much of an upgrade really in price/performance ratio.

If you insist anyways. I´d take a look at the GTX 970 ($300), which is a good overclocker and a step above the one you got now. You could consider another R9 290 with crossfire alternatively.

GTX 980 TI is a bit overkill and around $600, however the fastest card around (not considering Titan X) and the extra vram it offers is nice as well.

GTX 970 is about 10% better performance (if that much), but it´s not worth upgrading for $300. I´d wait, however you should be able to play most games maxed out on 1080, whats the reason for wanting to upgrade?

Well I tend to upgrade my computer regularly a single part at the time, and I started to see that few games couldnt be played with very high settings. That was the reason, but as you said, for 10% is not really a good option
