So im currently running a 1060 6gb and i have money that i can use on upgrades for my computer. Last thing i need to upgrade currently is the graphics card. I only want to be spending around £200 on the GPU (after selling 1060 id have around £350) 1070s are just out of my price range or i could wait a few months to be able to afford a 1070. How big is the difference between the 1070 and 980 ti? Also the 980 ti can be used in SLI am i right in saying that?

Solution
Definitely get the 980 Ti. You won't be disappointed. Tho, if it were me, i'd jump to a 1070 Ti since jumping up one notch generally isn't worth it unless your after something specific in your graphics settings.
Don't do it, that's a dumb move going back in GPU generation. Yes 980ti has "some" more horse power over 1060(equivalent of 980) but overtime 980ti will become awful when nvidia no more optimize things for it through drivers.
Wait for the new nvidia generation and see what comes up

So dont even wait for the 1070?

I'd wait to be able to afford the 1070. Firstly, though, what settings do you play on? For example: 1080p at 60 hertz. If so, I wouldn't bother making any change right now. If you want 1440p and/or 144 hertz, then it may be worth it. Even then, though, I'd wait to be able to get a 1070. The 980TI is last generation; it runs hotter and doesn't have the modern architecture of the current-gen (Pascal).

Edit: I'd also like to note that when I had my 1060 (now, I have a 1070), games were still great on 144 hertz on at least high settings. I wasn't always at 144 frames per second, but it was still almost always over 60 and very smooth.

I play on 144hz for multiplayer ill make my setting fit to give me 144hz. For single player i play on best graphics possible and at minimum 60hz

Yeah, I think that the best course of action would be to wait to be able to get a 1070, but it's up to you. I think that the 1070 is about equal to the 980TI, so you'd basically have a 1070 equivalent (with two less gigs of VRAM).
