Considering upgrading out of an emachine O.o

I bought a 550w psu with pretty decent amps on each individual rail don't have the exact specs atm.
I also bought a cheap low end gpu geforce gt 520 (hoping to get solid 60 fps at decent resolution in league of legends. then it hit me when i noticed i was sitting 35-50 and 60 only at very low settings. I need a new cpu because im currently using a single core 2.4ghz . however it's such an old mobo im having issues finding a decent dual core to put in it.

Anyways, now that you're caught up and understand my reason for upgrading
what is the cheapest case+mobo+cpu i could get together And still have decent case fans etc
I know cheap isnt a very great price marker but i honestly don't know what i'm willing to spend on it
Im strapped for cash but i have no issue saving a little if need be.

I want to upgrade out of this pc take the psu harddrive video card out of it put it in the new case along with the cpu/mobo (obviously)

Also I do not need an amazing machine just enough for some low end gaming league of legends cs:s and the like at max settings without AA of coarse. i do intend to upgrade the gpu again at some point as well but lets take it one step at a time =)

No preference on intel or amd either is fine.

You will also need a new copy of windows as the old copy is tied to the Emachine motherboard. what is your total budget for this? that will help tremendously when selecting parts.

Yes i understand this and i don't intend to throw it all together right away this is just more or less a plan for the build, As low budget as you can go really i currently only have 100$ i can spend freely. but i have no issue setting it aside and saving ( we all collect money do we not? ) so basically any price without overshooting what i intend to use it for low end gaming with upgrades in the future possible.

As kelthic mentioned, you'll probably need an OS, which is about $100 right there give or take. From there it would be really nice to have a ballpark estimate of what you want to spend. If you absolutely want to got cheapest build you can get that is likely going to be an AMD offering and run around $300. You can get a decent Intel setup for about the same money if you compromise on the motherboard a little. You really need to figure out your budget before we can be of any real help.

I link the 650 because the 520 is really not meant for much gaming and the 6850 will be much better.

The bad thing is you'll have to buy a new copy of windows when you replace the motherboard from your old machine. you might also consider looking for a used machine on secondary markets such as ebay and/or craigslist as you could probably get somethign decent that way. just make sure you try before you buy.

Ok i want to spend a maximum of 250$ish for just a case cpu and mobo. Give or take a little.

I know i will not be able to use it all until i get the proper ram and of coarse windows

let us know if there's anything else we can help with! you might want to look at an AMD 965 as a true quad core cpu option although the i3 is a good gaming chip, the amd will be faster with most non gaming tasks.

Okay, $100 isn't gonna do much. You can get a dual core for about $120. A motherboard to go with that probably would run you around $80, and a case would be mostly your preference on design, but would cost as little as $50 and as much as $200. Best scenario though would be around $250 for the CPU+mobo+case set.
