Hello,

I have a home built high end pc which is fairly new with a 2080ti graphics card. About a year or so after it was built and using the 2080ti I started getting the bsods complaining about VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR or other video / memory related errors.

This was with Windows 10. I thought maybe drivers were corrupted even though I kept, and continue to keep, everything up to date, so I wipe everything and upgraded to Windows 11. Same BSODs.

This happens whenever im using Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Topaz Labs, etc. Curiously this hasn't happened while gaming yet. The card doesn't seem to be stressed when using these programs, ie normal heat levels. Not sure why this keeps happening.

Any help is appreciated!!
Thank you!

(for what its worth im using the Nvidia Studio Driver 516.94)

Since there is no other responsible driver detected, it is suggested that you look for an updated driver for your graphics hardware. It's also possible that your graphics hardware was non-functional or overheated.

VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR
i would test GPU in another PC and see if it returns same errors.

I suspect its the hardware as most of the time when I see Nvidia errors the BSOD aren't as obviously caused by GPU. Its not a driver error from what I can tell.

Most BSOD caused by Nvidia drivers don't spell it out.

If you clean installed win 11 its unlikely to be the driver you are using now.
you can try this to be sure - https://forums.tomshardware.com/thr...n-install-of-your-video-card-drivers.2402269/

Hey guys, I ran the process that was originally linked above so we'll see what happens over the next couple days.

Oddly, while gaming I never get bsods even though the card is heating up and being used to the brink (the gpu fans spool up like a jet plane every once and awhile), but when running photoshop or lightroom or topaz labs the card is pretty silent and only hitting ~67C and yet BSODs when doing certain things. Makes no sense... It is in a small form factor case (NCase M1) but I have 2 intake Noctua's sucking air from the bottom directly into the 2080ti fans so their should be plenty of airflow.

Here are the rest of the specs:

Operating System
Windows 11 Home 64-bit

CPU
Intel Core i9 9920X @ 3.50GHz (no OC)
Skylake-X 14nm Technology
Corsair Hydro Series H100i PRO

RAM
Corsair 64.0GB DDR4 @ 1333MHz (18-19-19-39)

Motherboard
ASRock X299E-ITX/ac

Graphics
CG277 (2560x1440@59Hz)
3071MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti (NVIDIA) (This doesnt make sense to me, Speccy is reporting the gpu to have 3071MB of memory?)

Storage
465GB Samsung SSD 970 EVO 500GB
931GB Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB
1863GB Samsung SSD 980 PRO 2TB

Optical Drives
HL-DT-ST BD-RE WH16NS60 USB Device

Power Supply
Corsair SF Series SFX750

It wasnt a cheap build at the time so ill be super frustrated if the gpu is shot.

Hi @Colif Just wanted to follow up on this thread. I did a clean install of the nvidia drivers as described in your link and have battle tested it for awhile now and I haven't experienced anymore BSODs thankfully.

I also decided to not install the GeForce Experience app - even though it may be unrelated to my problems. Hopefully in the future they can put automatic driver updates back into the Nvidia Control Panel app instead of having to search their site to manually do it or download an additional app...
