Consistent crashes while gaming

I recently acquired a Dell XPS 8700 motherboard and i7 4770 Processor. The computer runs fine for web browsing, word processing and other lower resource heavy tasks, but when I try to play any recent game (ex Dark Souls 3, Prey, Hat in Time, Skyrim SE, FF XV) the game will run fine for about half an hour to an hour then the game will freeze frame and crash. If I try to boot the game up right away after that it will go another 30 minutes then crash with BSOD with stop code "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". I have done stress testing on the CPU, GPU, and RAM and have checked to make sure all my drivers are up to date. From what I can tell there is no overheating and while the game is playing everything is staying at reasonable temeratures.

My system currently has 8GB DDR3 and a EVGA GTX 980

Solution
Then you should go into the event viewer to see you can find some infos about the BSOD, before you buy other PSU.

My PSU is https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152057. I didn't have any trouble with it on my old MoBo though. I should also note that I have already reinstalled the OS but the issue continued to happen after the reinstall

Raidmax PSU 800W PSU? even it was labeled with 80+ gold. If I were you I will think twice before I will use it with the i7 +gtx980 combo. Because the raidmax PSU are still very poor.

Also you said the PC will crash while gaming, that means eithre the overheat or the PSU can't handle your PC, because you did reinstall the OS, the drivers should be fine. If you have other GPU try it out. If the PC with other GPU will not crash when you play the games, I will say your PSU have problem to power up the i7 + gtx980.

So if the PSU is failing it would case the game to crash to desktop but not necessarily cause a blue screen? Also I was using this PSU with the GTX 980 with an AMD - FX-8350 on the old MoBo. Any PSU you would suggest?
