Sadly we live in a consumer run world. If the people want something then their will always be a company out there to built it.

For Computers, laptops and tablets you don't have an alternative option.
BUT in games you have alternative, instead of buy the game in box(that consumes plastic, DVD, paper, transportation cost etc), you can simply download the game from digital distribution sites(like steam, origin, greenmangaming, etc, etc)
