Hi guys, here's the situation. I've been console gamer for the past 10 years. Since I am very disappointend by both PS4 and Xbox One in terms of performance and locked multiplayer behind paywall, I've decided to build my own "console". My TV is Full HD with native 60 Hz refresh rate. That means I'll be playing 1080/60. Nothing more. This will be purely gaming machine. No excel, no video editing etc. I've watched plenty of YouTube tech videos for the last couple of weeks and here are my findings.

- I want small HTPC case. It's fairly small, it'looks good next to TV and I can put a full sized GPU in there. So I already ordered Silverstone ML08B.
- I can put only ITX MB in there. That means AMD is out of the game (altough I am still waiting for AM4 and Zen). I don't need overclocking, nor any fancy features I'll never use. WiFi and Bluetooth would be much more appretiaced by me. So I found ASRock H110M-ITX/ac.
- Good gaming CPU with decent future-proofing seems to be Intel Core i5-6500. As I said, I don't want K version since I am not planning to overclock. Many times it will add just a minor perfomance boost in games + there's limit for CPU cooling fan (58 mm) in such a small case. Under these conditions "locked" CPU is a way to go.
- one stick of 8 GB DDR4 RAM. ITX boards has only 2 slots for RAM. I am planning to buy another 8 GB stick in a future when needed. The maximum limit of this board is 32 GB DDR4 RAM. That leaves me some space for future upgrading.
- I want a mainstream GPU for a solid price. Good under DirectX12. So I am thinking about RX 480 8 GB in some non-reference version. For a while I was thinking if RX 490 wouldn't be better choice but that one will be probably over my price limit.
- the last thing is PSU. Small HTPC case can only use SFX PSU. I've heard that Silverstone SFX units have some problems with their fan noise. Therefore I've decided for Corsair SF450. This build should require only about 300W, so I believe that 450 W is more than enough.

What do you think about this build? Do you approve or do you have a better idea?
The games I am plannig to play there are: AC Unity, Fallout 4 (just a slightly modded), Batman Arkham Knight, Deus Ex Mankind Devided, Mass Effect Andromeda...

First off you can't compare consoles to PCs, anything that has a dedicated CPU and GPU is going to be better than everything that is integrated. But that Silverstone case is definitely a good choice - they pretty much have the market cornered on mITX and HTPC. How much are you looking to spend on said build?

My limit was originally 800 euro (including Xbox One controller), but once I counted all these components together it will be more likely 900 euro. There's still a chance that Zen will be a great deal and I'll save some cash on CPU. I also hope there will be some really good deals for SSDs and RX 480 during Black Friday this year.
