Hello all,

I have been fighting this problem for 3 days. The problem arose when I was playing WoW on my normal raid day and my computer just started....crashing. Non stop. Literally NON stop. Anytime something takes some amount of juice from my Tower it just blue screens.

History: I had this stupid program "DriverUpdate" installed and i updated my drivers with it. I have no idea which ones it updated. My notably that comes to mind is my GPU which is a GTX 970. I typically use geforce experience but figured why not, id just that program. Well its been absolute hell since.

I have had this build for about two years now. I have never had a single hardware or software confliction with any of my parts. My specs are below.

CPU: intel i5 3570k

GPU: EVGA 4gb GTX 970

MOBO:ASUS P8Z77-V-LX

RAM:24gb PATRIOT 1600mhz 2x4gb and 2x8gb

HEATSINK: Corsair H100

PS:800w Corsair

SSD: KINGSTON 128gb SSD

HDD: 1TB storage drive (Seagate)

I just today completely WIPED my SSD and took the time to upgrade to Windows 8.1 from Win 7 Ultimate 64bit SP1. Even with a FRESH install of windows and reformatting my SSD. Im still crashing. The 2/6 BSOD's that i have will be posted below and i Will update as they continue to occur. My mind is literally fried at this point. DriverUpdate FUCKED my entire system and honestly cant believe i didnt research that first. I never don't research things, but it was on Cnet and had good reviews.

Background, im pretty tech savvy, im a UAV mechanic. But i cant troubleshoot this problem and I am desperate for your help. I cant attribute these BSOD's to any ONE problem. They just keep happening over and over.

In addition to the Fresh Win 8 install. I have since updated my Mobo drivers to Win 8. my BIOS version is also current. Although im not sure if I should update it to a win 8 version? Do i need to do that?

Lastly, Im currently OC'd to 4.4ghz stable at 1.264 volts. Again ive had zero software issues...ever

Thank you for your time.

It doesn't look like a hardware issue so far. What antivirus are you using?
Reset your BIOS while troubleshooting - it is indicated to run @ stock clocks during the process of error identification.
I would bet there's a series of outdated drivers. Not necessarily HARDWARE drivers but probably windows components too. You should run Windows Update and make sure Windows is up-to-date too.

Windows updates are current (All of them) even as of the fresh install. Im resetting my BIOS back to stock clock speeds directly after this reply.

Antivirus is VIPRE full version.

How would I go about updating these drivers or even locating them. I have no idea where to start. Theres a solid 50 drivers or more im sure associated with any system.

Get this and this.
Run scans (quick scan with the second) and get back with the results.

If Windows Update is telling you your OS is up-to-date, it should be OK. Had it been a problem with one of those drivers, Microsoft would've identified the cases since 2009. I understand you're using the latest GPU driver form the official nVidia website, right?

Bitdefender Scan: Nothing.
Malware Bytes (I have the full version) Threats Identified: 0 as well.

EDIT: I am using the May 31st Driver From nVidia website.

Im not sure whats causing these, this is getting ridiculous. Thats 8 different BSOD's today alone

EDIT: Just updated my Bios to the Windows 8 download. Im not sure if the Win 7 one was different or not. I selected the Win 8 driver. The version I updated it to, was the same. IE (2501-->2501) but with the Win 8 version. If that makes sense.

It hasnt "reported" me to that site, or referenced a FWP/API issue. Im sorry im thoroughly confused. Thats just an explanation of an event. Not a solution. What should i be doing exactly/ what do i need to update?

checking my Drive C settings for crashes, and crash dumps it was set to write out crashes in Kernal? I set it to Auto instead. Will that solve the issue of the crash dumps not being writted out by who crashed?

My last Windows 7 Ultimate was installed by a friend, there is a possibility that it was not OEM. My Current OS is 100% legit. (Windows 8.1)

i would try only the 2x4 gig in dual channel and see if error come on then do the same with 2x8 gig module and if your 4 gig are channel 1 and 8 gig on channel i would interchange them after the first test also since this is a intel cpu ram voltage are set to max 1.5 volts .
