Constant zsquirrel 2016 pop up when opening tabs

Whenever I open a new tab, I get this weird zsquirrel 2016 yahoo search bar pop up and it's really persistent, even though I've run malwarebytes and a few others, it keeps popping up. I used that chrome cleaning tool and this thing still won't go away? Has anyone seen this before?

1. Uninstall whatever it is
2. Malware scan to delete it. if uninstall doesn't work
3. Don't click on whatever gave you that present

It doesn't show up in programs, I wish it was that easy.
I've scanned so many times, I lost track. But obviously, nothing is catching this.
I'm not entirely sure where this came from but I have an idea. That's kind of beside the point though, I've been searching for days and haven't found one other person that mentioned this keyword 'zsquirrel 2016' that it says on the bottom left of this pop up.
Removing yahoo search is not relevant to my problem, but thank you.

it is in the chrome search option remove it from there .

No sir, I just got this laptop.
I'm just kind of flabergasted that I'm the only person having this issue.
It only pops up when I open a new tab though, and there's a little gold fish that swims around in the little box... it's kinda funny, but it's just as irritating as any other pop up.
Once I get rid of it, I'm definitely making a backup.

Is this new or used?
If a used device, your first move should be to wipe the drive and reinstall the OS.
If a new device, there should be a Recovery partition, letting you to bring it back to factory spec, and/or create your own DVD set to do the same.

Go to control panel \ internet options \ Tabs \ When a new tab is opened \ Select your first home page

if that does not work \ When a new tab is opened \ Restore defaults

It's new, not used.
I finally got it all set up and all my files transfered. I could back everything up externally, I just find it kind of inconvenient and drastic, I guess I figure there's got to be another way or something I'm missing. I mean, at the end of the day I can live with it for a bit... But yeah when I'm finally over it, that'll probably be the first thing I do.

I used Norton Internet Security as per DeadNinja's suggestion in PM and my issue is now gone.
