Constantly High Disk Usage by Windows Services

Hello!
For a few weeks I've been struggling with high disk usage on my PC and I feel like it's getting worse and worse every day.
The problem is as it says in the title, various Windows services are using up the disk. And as soon as one of them goes down, another one starts and goes up to 100%. Also it seems like that it takes a lot longer for games to load than they did previously (especially comparing when the PC was new).

The most common services i see are:
Windows Modules Installer Worker
Antimalware Service Executable
Service Host: Local System (various numbers...)
Search

Do you have any idea what's causing this? Or could it be that the HDD is failing/giving up in any way?

I'm running Windows 10 64-bit.
Specs (built in early 2014)
CPU: i7 4770k
GPU: GTX 780 Ti
MOBO: Asrock z87 pro 3
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
RAM: 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport 1600 Mhz

Have you got all the windows updates? a recent patch messed up one process, see if this helps: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-3267507/fix-100-disc-usage-system-service.html

Try running Seatools for windows on the hdd, that will see what its like.

Windows Module Installer worker - this is used to update store apps and install windows updates. I have seen a few updates in the last few days for the store, they update each app individually. Funny, the combine windows updates and leave store ones unbundled.
Antimalware Service executable - this part of windows defender. One way to get rid of it is use Bitdefender free instead as it beats defender into the dust...
Service host - various as many different services use it...

You can try searching for "Windows Search" and "Superfetch" in your services (services.msc) and under Properties > Startup Type then choose to disable. There should be a 'Stop' option, stop those as well.

The other option, and if you haven't done this in a while it's due for multiple reasons, but reformat the PC and re-install Windows. You'll want to back up what you want or can first.

Either way, would recommend you back up your system with a disk imager (i.e. Macrium Reflect) or a snapshot tool (i.e. RollBack Rx) in case this happens again, or gets worse.

Yes. Disable windows self destruct. Run services.msc and disable windows search.

Maybe disable windows update service, but you would have to turn it on whenever you are ready to update it. The index gets bigger and bigger and fragmented and fragmented I have fixed many old computers by disabling windows search because hard drive sits at 100% when trying to do anything. I have also fixed computers running windows 7 by disabling windows update because a cpu core will sit at 100%. "wow my computer is so much faster since I upgraded to windows 10" such scam from microsoft
