Before I start, this is my current setup.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 FE
MOBO: ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400 mhz (16GB)
SSD: Samsung EVO 970 250GB
HD: Toshiba 7.2K 1TB
PSU: Corsair CX 750

So, my motherboard will not run a 2nd stick in the B2 slot. I've tested this same pair on a different build and no issues occurred. I've also tested different pairs of RAM in my current motherboard and I still have the same issues. I've updated the bios, still nothing. I've ran memory test on MY sticks of RAM and no issues were found nor logged. Is there something I'm missing that I should know about before returning my motherboard? As a major PC gamer, I don't fancy waiting a week or two for a replacement motherboard to be sent out.

It says on the mobo manual that slots A2-B2 are recommended for dual channel; but could I have them in A1-B1? Or would that cause issues.

You can try it but many if not most systems won't boot up with that configuration.
