Continuous, short, and very loud beeps...

Hello, I am trying to build myself a new pc after saving for the parts. I finally got my RAM today, but once I had it all put together, a series of short beeps happens when i power it up. Can anyone help? I read many threads already and I haven't seen an issue exactly like mine. Here are the specs:

MB: Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H rev. 1.0
Intel i3 Clarkdale 3.2ghz
Patriot Viper 3 2x 4GB Ram,
etc.

That usually means there's no ram installed. Make sure you have the ram fully seated into the slots and that the locks at the end of the sticks are fully seated.

That memory is not on the QVL. for that motherboard. You might have to update your BIOS to F11 to get that memory to work. I would send it back and get some memory from the list.

So are you saying that I will be able to use this RAM if I upgrade the BIOS?
