Hey all,

So I've been dealing with this issues for almost a week now. Have spent hours trying to figure out what the issue is. Control panel wont load right away, it takes about 5 to 10 minutes or even 30 minutes to load and it just sits there in a blank page and wont let me exit as well. After it finally loads and it opens, all the programs inside control panel open just fine except for Windows Firewall. When I click to open windows firewall it also take a few minutes to load and open. All other programs open up just fine except for firewall. EA Origin is another program that does not load but this one takes some up to an hour or 2 to load. And finally the other program that doesn't work is the setting option when you swipe your mouse to the right to bring up the windows 8 options menu. The settings menu will take a long time to load its options. I was having an issues with my sound service not running so I decided to use tweaking.com "windows repair" So I ran the program and it solved the "no audio service running" problem. After I did this I started getting the issues that I am talking about. Please help as I am on the brink of factory reset and I do not want to do that. Thanks!

Solution
Most of those "Windows Repair" ads will load malware on systems. You are no doubt infected. You might be able to remove the infection using MalwareBytes (free download from www.malwarebytes.org) and/or RogueKiller (don't have the URL with me; Google will be friendly).

Have you tried Avast Virus Removal? Also, run MalwareBytes a few times

yes I have avast I am running the scan as we speak, but avast wont start up automatically on windows boot and I have to open it manually.

Try AVG free. No doubt these programs are from an installer that comes with free software, the type that has multiple offers and unless you manually unchecked them all the junkware would be installed.

Along with further virus scans, I would also suggest to go to google chrome/internet explorer and look for the extensions as well as search engines that have been installed and uninstall them from the browsers themselves.

But do you think that browser plugins could be the possible issue behind it/
