Controller D-pad problem

While playing splinter cell the up button on my Xbox 360 controller (Not the entire d-pad) stopped working. I tried re-plugging it in (it is wired) and tried restarting the game and to no success. This is a genuine controller. Everything else seems to work on it.

Did you calibrate the 360 controler in windows ?

You can do it by clicking on start.

And in the search box simply type : USB.

Click on setup usb game controlers.
select the xbox 360 controler from the main box.
Properties.

Then select calibrate.

Test and setup all of the 360`s buttons, analog sticks, and the d pad up.
And then test to see if the d pad is working again.

Apply the new settings or changes.

And your good to go for any pc game you wish to play with the 360 pad.
