Question controller not being recognized, *Usb device not being recognized, malfucuntion thing*

I know my controller works because it works on ps4. I bought a new cable for it, but it tells me that the last thing i plugged in was not able to be recognized and I troubled it shoot it but it still tells me the same message. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

What are you now plugging the controller into?

Update your post to include hardware specs and OS.

Make and model controller? Where did you get the new cable for it?

Have you tested the USB port to determine if the port works for other USB devices?
