Hrmmmm, yeah so I have been looking into some controllers... however I only have 20 bucks so i want something cheap (plus i'll only use it in the occasional racing game + ps2 games)

aaaanywho, was wondering if you guys had any suggestions... (buying it online is gonna be a pain so easily attainable controllers is a plus )

I was thinking of a cheapy ps3 controller then some sort of adapter? or something? I don't really know...

So: under 20 bucks, has to be wired, and *should* be easily attainable

a ps3 controller has 3rd party driver set so it will work in windows.

you just have to find it by searching google. not the best drivers i've ever seen but once you figure them out its all good.

i've used it with the pcsx2 emulator before via the usb cable and it worked fine.

if you have a ps3 already its a free solution

you can buy game controllers for windows already which come with drivers. however buttons might not match up to the ps2 style depending on what you buy.

Yeah, hmmm... but in the end it was only 13-15 bucks right? for a cheapy PS3 controller... And I would think the quality of a cheap ps3 controller is better then the quality of a cheap pc controller, by miles.

Most of the cheap windows controllers I found are like 30 and up :S

Any suggestions on what I should do/buy?

ps3 controllers are often found for $50 new. i've heard about them going on sale for $30 but i havent seen it personally.

perhaps you meant ps2 controller. does that even use usb? i thought that used a special plug which isnt compatible with pcs. those do go for the prices you mentioned.

quality wise...not really. all controllers degrade over time. sony controllers are no exception.

if you are in no rush... pick up a used ps3 controller at a flea market for $5. or try ebay/craigslist for controllers.

Well, I was looking at the ps3 wired controllers, I know the wireless ones go for 50+ but the link I gave has it at walmart for 13 ish?

No idea what the controllers quality is like though D:
