Convert a flash drive into a PS2 memory card?

I am working on a project for a competition. I am trying to combine an Xbox, a Game Cube, and a PS2. I want to increase the storage capacity of the PS2 with a 1GB flash drive. Can it be done? I wan't the PS2 to read the flash drive as if it is a memory card. I know there is at least one tutorial online for this, but I'm not sure if it's legit, and it was not very clear.

I have looked on them numerous times, and all I find is a solution for the other way around. They'll also say that you can use program to make a flash drive work, however you can't save directly to the flash drive. That's not what I need. I want to be able to hook this thing into a memory card slot.
