convert acer to w.xp

I convert my acer laptop from windows vista to microsoft xp, at the begining works ok but now monitor is dark even my computer is on definately dont make noises of the hard drive when is on....
What it could be?

Is this happening when you first turn it on or when it's been on for a while? How can you be certain it's actually on? There may have been hardware items for which XP drivers weren't available - did everything work at some stage?

If there are no fan or drive noises, no lights, laptop is dead. Only thing you can try maybe is a new power supply, if you have a bad battery and the power supply is bad, it won't boot. Aside from that, if there are no sounds or lights when you turn it on, it's probably a motherboard issue which usually cost more to repair than the laptop is worth.
