convert center speaker(w/o hdmi) to soundbar

I would like to covert my old center speaker into a soundbar. Can I switch out the speaker wire connector for an hdmi connector?

Nope. It probably no amplifier in it, none of the internals, etc. Just buy a soundbar. It would take more in a HDMI audio extractor and amp than a soundbar would cost.
