Convert coax to Ethernet over plug link then back to coax

I'm curious if I can convert a coax digital signal such as Comcast from coax to Ethernet then over a plug link back to Ethernet to coax then a STB. I know the plug links work great for a regular data network but not so well for IpTV STB's such as Uverse. Was wondering if anyone had any technical specs or has tried before.

Solution
If the issue is with "remote-ness" of your cable entry to your TV, you could try XFinity multi-room setup - keep main STB close to coax cable entry, and have satellite STB (which communicates either wirelessly or over Ethernet) next to your TV.

Although I would just consider running that coax cable **somehow** to the TV.

Not what I'm wanting to do. STB stands for (set top box) i.e. Comcast receiver/DVR etc... What I asked is if I can bring a Comcast signal from coax to a plug link to another room then a plug link back to coax to STB. Curious if it's even possible since noise isolation is key for Coax to work.

I doubt it especially for tv but even data likely would have issues. It is not so much the physical media that is the issue it is that the way the data is sent on coax cable is very different that say ethernet. A more obvious example would be a fiber cable. You can not put light into a copper cable you would need some kind of device to convert it from one media type to another.

It is not something you are going to find in a consumer electronics store if it even exists. It is something a cable company would purchase and likely has a price that only a large company would find reasonable.

Too much noise and signal degradation. Looked up other possible solutions i.e. Monsoon multimedia receivers via wireless or comparable products from other companies seems to be the best option with out a high overhead.
