I am trying to setup a Personal Weather Station at my RC Model Flying Field and link to Weather Underground. We need a inexpensive Ethernet to CDMA 3G or 4G LTE. Very small bandwidth requirements Plug in Ethernet and send data to 3G cloud to Weather Udergroung

Budget is low and looking for Simple stupid solutions. A black box to plug Ethernet cable in, and go out VZW CDMA network

Can any toss a bone my way,

Problem is there is no single standard device for mobile broadband. Even in your post you mention cdma,3g,4g,lte. On top of this there are multiple different radio frequencies these operate at as well a major differences between ISP on how they connect to their networks.

Your best be is likely going to be some form of small mobile router that accepts USB modems from the provider you want to use.

Even when you look at routers that support mobile broadband modems they have lists of ones they support and there are many that are not supported that are not on the list.

Many of the Asus router have good support for many modems if you want a place to start. If you do not care about price and want to be 100% sure of no problems call and ask your broadband provider for a solution they all sell routers that are compatible.

Thank you for your time and answering.

I understand the technology pretty good since I work for a cell phone company, the red one that sounds like horizon.

I only mentioned 4G LTE because it is out there an dis the same for all carriers, although I do not need that kind of speed. I do have several USB 3G CDMA modems laying about, bu tit would still take an interface device to convert Ethernet.

I know I can use a Router, but that is a bit expensive. What i do not know is if there might be a simple hardware device to convert say at least 10/100 mbs Ethernet to CDMA or LTE directly for such devices. I could do it with a Cell Phone that has a WiFi Bridge because PWS have Wifi, bluetooth and ethernet connectivity. So I need to convert from one of those topologies to 3G CDMA or 4G LTE.

Thanks again.

Not a black box answer, but it sounds like a perfect use for a Raspberry Pi computer. If you can get linux drivers for the modems.
