Removed a working XP drive, bought two external drive enclosures with power and can not connect with either one. I can hear the drive connect but can't see it in explorer. Device manager sees it come and go several times a minute. Used Regedit to remove "NoDrive" from Registry. Have tried most of the ideas on the web but this site is way ahead of the others. All the services one forum said to start are running. XP had a bios password which I did not remove before I tossed the old PC. Some suggest I change the drive letter on the xp drive from C to something else but...I can't see it in management or with Disk Internals Partition Recovery.

Yes. I switched the drive to two other enclosures that work with other drives. I also connected another external drive and it connected immediately. I have also used three different usb cables with no luck.

Thanks anyway. One site said to plug it back in the the old PC (which has been trashed), delete the bios password and then hook it up somehow as a USB drive in the new PC. But the old PC was a tower and the new PC is a tablet. Win 7 on my wife's pc can't see it either. Thanks again for trying to help.
