Convert NTFS to HFS+

I have an old 1TB HDD that I'm going to sell to my Uncle. He has a mac and he's going to be using this with Pro Tools (a music recording software) in uncompressed files. He's running a G5 with OS-X.
So with my HDD it is currently formatted as NTFS and I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, so I can't even format it to FAT32.

Is there an easy way for me to get this hard drive formatted to the HFS+ format?

Yes. Download UBCD and run KillDisk or some other low level wiping tool to completely wipe out the drive. Then format it via OSX.

Warning: Do be careful when running HDD wiping tools. To be safe, unplug all other HDDs, both internal and external HDDs/Flash,etc. If you choose the wrong HDD, your data is history

Alternatively, you should be able to format the HDD to FAT using a Linux Live CD.

I'm unsure about this, but couldn't I format the Hard Drive straight from NTFS to HFS+ inside OSX?
