Hi guys, I have a very large Sharp Printer at my office (don't know model - but it is a high volume big printer). It was wired before to my network. I (for reasons of cost) have recently cut out my internet bill with Comcast/Xfinity and have put wireless adaptors on all my DESKTOP computers. I haven't figured out how to print to my big Sharp Printer yet. I ordered Netgear WNCE2001 Universal WiFi Internet Adapter in hopes that that would do the trick. I currently have it plugged into my printers ethernet cord. It seems like one of my computers has tried to connect to it but to no avail. FYI - the wireless adapter on both computers is the NETGEAR N300 USB Adapter. How do I do this?
Also of note - I have no idea how it was networked before - was it plugged into my Comcast/Xfinity router or into a single computer and routed... or into the wall? It seems like I should know this but I don't understand this.
I think there is probably a simple solution that is right in front of my eyes (such as plug the ethernet cord from the printer directly into one computer and network with the other) or something like that but I have messed with the wires so much I don't know what I did.
HELP!
...I should mention that I have connected my computers to Xfinity wireless (I am still a paid customer for my home office so I have a user name and password to log on). Is that an issue for connecting the printer?...because it is a public network? I tried a prepaid ATT hotspot but it didn't work (not sure why). I'm not happy with the speed of the Xfinity wireless connection so I know it is not a permanent solution. I just can't afford the Xfinity bill I have ($800+ for 3 months?!? so I want to know what other people do to utilize wireless to cut costs.. and figure out how to network my printer while doing so. It's all a mess now!
Thanks for your help.
