I am considering buynig a 144hz monitor as right now i only have a 60hz one. However i am just wondering is it worth it? I'm quite a competitive gamer and i hear that 144hz is ideal for gaming, is there a noticeable difference tho? will i instantly be able to tell the difference? If so ill be using my 60hz one as a second monitor, so when both the monitors are next to eachother will i be able to see the difference indefinitely?

Solution
144Hz is a massive difference, not just ingame either. Though your system needs to maintain those frame rates to truly notice. Easier running games like CS, LOL and Fortnite will feel like gliding on glass and quick mouse movement is much more accurate and smoother.

Depending on your hardware and video connection youre planning to use will determine if monitor will work at 144Hz with your system and maintain frame rates.

My pc specs are:

GTX 1060 6gb

AMD ryzen 5 2600

2x8 corsair ram

120gb ssd

2tb hdd

The games i mostly play is Fortnite, League of legends, gta, Ring of Elysium, pubg

Be advised that sometimes you can't set two different frame rates on different monitors. I have seen reports that being "broken" from certain driver updates, XBOX DVR software... Also, certain GPU's might get hot when the attached monitors are running at different resolutions of frame rate.

In my opinion the issue is the 1060. In order to experience 144Hz gaming your system needs to consistently send 144 FPS to the monitor so that they're both on the same page er frame. For less resource hungry games you can probably achieve that but only you know the answer to that. If you can achieve 144 FPS+ on most/all your games you probably will see the difference but you will feel the difference more than just through the mouse. If you had a 1070 Ti or better I'd be looking at maybe a BenQ or an Acer 144Hz monitor. The 1060 is a little light.
