Hi everybody,
So recently I bought a Mi-fi device on 4G.It does not have an Ethernet port, but has WPS and a micro usb port.
Now I need to connect This Mi-fi as the source of Internet to a wireless router , which has Ethernet ports, so that i can connect my ethernet device ( no wifi) to the router and access internet on that device too. Can someone please help me with the right router/repeater, to connect to my mi-fi device and basically convert the wireless internet( mi-fi) to wired + wifi ??
I hope I made the situation clear. Please guide me in the Right direction for the required equipment.
I Have a basic idea about the networking stuff..
Thanks!!

Unfortunately I have not stayed up on these so I don't really know. I have a number of outdoor ones from engenius or ubiquiti...they work fine inside if you really wanted to go that route. They are pretty cheap, which exact one you need depends on router band etc. My latest toy is Ubiquiti LiteBeam M5 paid less than $50. You likely will want a 2.4g band device.

A repeater only cuts the speed in half if you allow it to re transmit the wireless signal. If it hook to the ethernet port you do not pay that penalty. It really depends if the device has the option to turn off the wireless repeater function.
You likely have a lot of research to do. There are huge difference in these devices, even the same exact model on different ISP has different features. They ISP can choose to enable or disable what they want.

You might get very lucky and it support tethering, most do not. Your then left with using a device called a client-bridge. It is basically a wireless nic that you connect with a ethernet cable. There are a number of different device that can do this. The simplest are designed for game consoles or tv that do not have wireless. The next are wireless repeaters but you want to disable the wireless repeating part and use it just as a bridge.

Now if the MI-FI device supports WDS you can plug your end equipment directly into the client-bridge/repeater and not use your router. If it does not you will need to plug it into the wan port of your router. It will be much simpler if you get lucky and WDS is supported. Some ISP do not turn that feature on...not sure why but they also tend to limit the number of clients that can connect also.

All you need is a wireless ethernet adapter. It plugs into USB on your hotspot and then ethernet side into your router where your modem would plug and go on computer network n sharing from there change adapter settings and disable wireless connection and enable wired ethernet connection. That should do it.
