Hi everyone,

I am looking at the possibility of converting my external drive into an internal drive in the next few days and need some advice of how this could be achieved. I don't really know a lot about hard drives all I know is that there can be an IDE and SATA connector, I have uploaded two images of the drive which is out of its casing. All I really need to know is if it can be connected and what cables I would need to use to connect it.

Thanks everyone, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi there JordanWoods90,

Also keep in mind that WD My Passport is hardware encrypted. So if you plan to take the hard drive out of the enclosure, you better take all your data out of it before that.

Depends upon what your motherboard can support, and you can research that from the manufacturers website. You will need a power lead and if the board supports SATA a sata cable. Presumably your power supply is adequate.
