i am not able to log in gmail as i am being asked of my cookies mismatch and i donot know as to enable them.

Actually you can disable cookies and if you have, then you need to enable them to use sites that require a login.

In Firefox, you go to the: Tools -> Options ...menu and click the "Privacy" tab. On that tab there's a checkbox to enable cookies. If you disable cookies there's an additional button called "Exceptions..." that lets you enable them for specific sites that you trust.
