Greetings. I have heard of people using their CPU to cook food. Would doing this ruin my CPU or make the food inedible? Any responses are appreciated.

Might be a fun thing to try on a junk mobo/cpu, wouldn't try it on anything you care about though. And I wouldn't eat the food if you cook it directly on the processor, it'll probably get some thermal paste remnants on it. If you cook it in a small pot, or a spoon sitting on the processor it might not be a terrible idea though.
I use an old Pentium 4 system like a George Foreman grill. The grease generated helps restock the motherboard's capacitor fluids. To ensure the CPU stays at a stable 90 degrees Celsius, I always make sure to put some thermal grease in with the food.

your cpu doesn't even get hot enough to boil water.

This is a joke that originated with the old Nvidia gtx480. The 480 ran REALLY hot, so hot someone was able to put a piece of tinfoil down on top of one and cook an egg on it. As far as I'm aware this was only attempted once by that one guy, and I'm not even sure it happened and wasn't just a made up trick or stunt.
