Hi,
I'm hoping to build a gaming PC with 4930K. I'm bit confused on the cooling I should use. I'm not hoping to overclok my processor. I'm thinking of some liquid cooling solution too. But I read some reviews about them, that CPU liquid coolers are less or equal efficient as air coolers. Please can you give some advices to me on this. I'm considering price, power required, noise, volume it needs.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
I'm hoping to use Gskill or Cosair memory 8GB*4. If I use eve 212, will they interfere memory space? I'm thinking this as those memories are quiet large in size.

At the top ya have water blocks and custom loops... The Koolanace 380i is top dog here on LGA 2011

Below that ya have the "Big 3", in order of preference....

Phanteks PH-TC-14
Thermalright Silver Arrow
Noctua DH-14

AIO liquid coolers perform similar to the above but for most of them to equal the performance of the above, they need to run at a screaming rpms and sound like vacuum cleaners. The H110 and Antec Kuhlers are among the exceptions. The H110 comes up just a bit short of the Phanteks and Silver Arrow and matches the DH14.

The Hyper 212 is a great budget cooler ..... I use it a lot on low cost systems, But at 7-10C higher temps than the above options, it's rarely used on systems > $1,200.

A $30 cooler on a $600 CPU is kinda like sticking a $35 set of tires on a Porsche. However, If you are not going to overclock, really doesn't matter. Then again, if you are not overclocking or not using > 2 GFX cards on ya gaming rig, I don't see the reason for the 4930k or 32GB memory either.

One other thing about the Hyper 212 is it's mounting mechanism ..... it doesn't prevent over tightening and I have replaced two MoBos on users systems after they upgraded from stock cooler and then brought me their broken systems, make sure to apply firm but even pressure tightening in a diagonal pattern being careful not to go overboard.

As for RAM, whatever modules you choose, if you buy the low profile version, (40mm max) you will have no problem. Just about very manufacturer sells both with same specs. The only cooling function the tall heatsinks provide is "looking cool".

Here's some comparisons of the top 3
