Cooler in way of RAM?

I recently ran an out of case testboot with my CPU and RAM and it displayed 16gb RAM correctly in the BIOS. After installing my motherboard in the case, screwing my radiator to the back, and running a second test boot, my BIOS now only shows 12GB of RAM. I was wondering: Is the cooler set possibly screwing up the RAM (http://i.imgur.com/hz2Psxg.jpg)? Can I install my RAM in the black DIMM slots instead of the red ones?

Yes, all 4 sticks in 4 black slots is equal to all 4 sticks in 4 red slots.

I reoriented the cooler so that the pipes came from the top, giving me more room for the RAM. Turns out a RAM stick got a little loose.

Yup. I didn't need to change from red to black, just the one loose stick.
