Hello, I recently upgraded my i5 2500k rig to r5 1600 (i know it is a little bit of an old upgrade but my cousin gave away the new parts to me so upgrade is an upgrade) since the part swaps my PC was not stable, when you bump the case it would always shut itself down with no error like electric cut off.
I tried to troubleshoot it but i could not see anything. I've seen people going around telling it might be a short circuit etc. but I really had no indicators like that. And I'm using the same outlet etc. with my before parts so I don't really get what might've been causing the problem. Today when i was trying to plug in my TV's HDMI to the GPU my PSU smoked off like crazy and i immediately plugged it off. I will include an imgur link to the PSU. Some of the capacitors are fried i guess. Before replacing it i wanna know what might've caused the problem?
The PSU was 600W 80+ Cooler Master Elite V3. My GPU is GTX 970, 16GB DDR4 3000mhz, R5 1600 stock cooler, got extra 5 case fans for airflow, one SSD and two HDD.

Edit: I think PSU Burned somewhere else too... This is close to the DIMM slots: View: https://imgur.com/a/j0L2zi7

How old is the PSU that blew up? You might want to turn your attention towards the rest of your PC innards and throw that unit away since repairing it is pointless.
I believe i started using it 4 years ago. I won't be repairing it I just want to know what might've caused the problem so i can avoid it in the future.
