Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo TDP?

Solution

I know it's an old thread but it comes up as one of the first results on google when you google tdp for 212 evo and this is wrong, the tdp rating for 212 evo is 150w and not 180w.

I was hoping to overclock a 6700K with it. Would that stay cool?

My noctua nh-d15 can't go under 60c (don't know what program comes closest to the real temps of a 8 core fx ) with a fx 8300 at 4.2ghz 1.368wolt (170-175watt) with 3x140mm be quiet pure wings 2 1000rpm fans a in a define r5

There are 2 distinct temperatures measured in those processors. Core temp (up to ~62c max) and Package temps (Up to ~90c max). If you have 60c Package temps that free versions of HW monitor shows. than you are running pretty cool.
Try using AOD (AMD Overdrive) program.

Amd overdrive show temps before thermal threshold
