I have the following system which lately went catatonic but I've started toying with the idea to rebuild it into new glory as my 2nd line system. I would replace the current tech with z170 and some cheap additional components.

CPU - RAM - MB probably needs to go because one of them is bogus and there isn't a good (financially viable) source for replacement components.

However - can I reuse the Hyper 212 Plus on a modern LGA 1151 CPU? Is it just mounting parts - has Intel made any change in that area?

May need to do some quick decisions with this, who knows...

no problems , the 1150/1151/1155 sockets have all the same mounting.
the only socket the evo does not fit out of box is the AM4 the new AMD socket. it is my understanding at least
