Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Frustration

First, let me say that I am very new to pc building. My uncle recently gave me some parts that he no longer uses, and im trying to complete the build. Some of those parts were an Asrock 970 Extreme3 motherboard and an AMD fx6300. I went out and bought a cooler master hyper tx3, because the processor needed a fan. I can not figure out how to install this thing at all. Nothing I try fits the mounting holes on the motherboard. I've tried looking online at videos and pictures. I feel like I've tried everything. I'm feeling extremely dumb right now and I would greatly appreciate any help.

Well there's always a step by step guide on the manual you got with the cooler.
But i'm assuming you already tried to follow that.

Yep the instructions are the most vague and unclear instructions I've ever seen. What would you like pictures of?

Haha know that feel, took me a while to figure out how to mount my custom cooler.

This video shows you pretty well how to do it. It looks pretty simple (on the video anyways).
