Cooler Master Hypter 212 Evo wont fit?

So I recently built my first computer (which booted up great, installed windows, now I'm installing drivers, etc.), but while I was building it, I just couldn't get this after market cooler on. I screwed in the bracket on the back, went in easily... I put the thermal paste on, spread it, sat the heatsink on, but when i tried to fasten it down, the X bracket wouldn't reach the standoffs.

I check over everything multiple times, tried to do it different ways, but nothing. The bracket would rest slight on top of the standoffs, but couldn't go down any further.

It says it fits into an AM3+ socket, I'm not sure if it's the MSI Motherboard or what, but it really pissed me off.

I decided to put the stock cooler on, which I'm not sure was a good idea...

When i first entered my bios, the idle temps where about 42.6C, but after about 10ish hours, I'm looking at it with idle temperatures of 37.0C and very, very slowly rising every 10+ minuets.

i had the exact same problem, but i solved it. I will try explain as good as i can since my english are bad.

there are 2 ways u can view that X bracket, the 2 axels it has they move. So, it's jumping from 37.0C to 38.0C, then back to 37.0C, so basically I think it's officially idling around 37.5C.

So, I tried putting it back into the case, I had to use a lot of pressure to pull the pins down, and I finally got it in. Those who have the safe problem, you have to use more pressure than you would normally use.
