News Cooler Master reveals V-Series air coolers resembling high-performance engine blocks alongside new cooling solutions at CES

They have a old line with car names on it
V6 gt ( I have this one) V8 and V10 with (Peltier cooling design. Never worked).
Cooler master products are premium garbage.
The Chinese counterfeit are cheaper and have same performance.

The fan is on the wrong axis relative to the cover. You don't have a flywheel covering the exhaust manifold.
Looks like it was designed by AI.

As long as they are playing with it like a toy, they could include a transmission shaped fan shroud to get the heat right out of the case.

If there's no functional reason or benefit from incorporating such styling cues, then count me out.
I don't particularly mind this sort of thing (assuming said design appeals to the individual) as long as it doesn't cause problems. Of course I also have no interest in paying extra for a design that merely looks nice without any other benefit. That's why my last two builds used a Peerless Assassin 120 and Peerless Assassin 140 as they were the best performing air coolers at the time.

That being said these top plates all look like solid parts which would prevent moving the fan up. There's also no indication of an offset for DRAM clearance either which means no matter how great these coolers may be they're functionally limited.

I had the V10, and the V10's Peltier worked for me. Granted, it didn't work as well as the Peltier coolers from TITAN (the Titan Amanda) or V-something (Vantus? Vantec? Vantex?) clone which used a shrouded rectangle around the finstack that let the fans in push-pull really keep their Peltiers working. The V10 in comparison had a weird heatsink that didn't lend itself well to sufficiently cool down the Peltier without adding extra fans.

I had a much different experience with CM products it seems; I never did have an issue with any product from them, going back to using their 212 for multiple builds until I discovered Thermalright and their even cheaper (or same cost but bigger) coolers. Also never had any issues with their cases I did buy and use for a long while. They even helped me source some replacement parts for a legacy HAF case as well as a C700M case I've been using, just paying a small fee for shipping + parts.

That said, I agree with the general sentiment that CM has overdone the design aesthetic with some of their products, ranging from the stupid shoe-shaped case to reviving the engine block covers on their coolers.

In spite of everything I've said, I don't really mind the shoe-shaped case. It's clearly pandering to the sneakerheads and if they want to spend their money on it, then it's probably a better use of their money than blowing multiple that amount on a pair of vintage sneakers that originally sold for like $100.

If anything bugs me, it's what else they're not working on.
