Cooler Master runs LOUD?

So sometimes while playing games I need to get my cooler master hyper 212 plus up to 85-100% to cool effectively enough, but when I do this it is VERY loud. I can hear it all the way from the lower level of my house! Why does it run so loudly and how can I quiet it?

So by that logic, you could replace the cheap, noisy fan with a quiet 120 MM fan and your issue would be resolved.
Stationary metal plates do not create noise.

The Noctua fans are some of the best performing and quietest fans on the market. Replace the fan with a Noctua and you will instantly notice how quiet it is.

NF-P12 for the Noctua, also make sure the heatsink is cleaned regularly. The Hyper 212 plus is a very good cooler and capable of cooling a moderate overclock. If just gaming is pushing it that hard to ramp the fan up that high, the 212 is either not enough to deal with any overclock you have, or the thermal paste is not right, or its just plain packed with dust.

That's assuming that it is actually the CPU fan, not the GPU fan that's ramping up. Most games use very little actual cpu
