Alright I've got a weird one.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086HN1TFP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 <--- A year+ ago, I bought this fan. I was able to install what I assumed was the Cooler Master Masterplus Software to change the light to green to match my already existing rgb fan.

Today I decided I wanted to change the color. I couldn't find the program, so I "reinstalled" MasterPlus. It says my sickle flow isn't compatible. I searched this forum, and found other users with the same issue, and I see now that MasterPlus is not compatible with my specific fan.

Which leads me to the question, how did I ever change the color on the fan without the software? I've tried every rgb remote I have in my house and none of them worked, and I very specifically remember messing around with different hues to match the same green I already had on my other fan.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT FOR ANY OTHER USERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE:
I found the program I was using not 5 mninutes after I made this post. It's "RGB Fusion 2.0". , from Gigabyte, the makers of my motherboard. I'll delete the post if any mods/seasoned users think it's a waste of space. Thanks again.

Responding to this for the sake of posterity. In fact the RGB software you're speaking of isn't an end all be all. You can look towards the motherboard's maker, even the fan's maker. You could even look into Signal RGB though some recent updates for the latter mentioned app has come to light.
