[SOLVED] Cooler Master SL600M case query

Hi everyone

Does anybody know whether a sound card can be installed within the Cooler Master SL600M case if the GPU is mounted vertically? I don't know whether there would be enough room.

I would say so, but motherboard layouts can vary so it depends which board we are talking about.

In this photo -

You can see there is a small PCIE slot available at the top, and i think if you plugged the riser in a lower PCIE slot you could use the top one for a soundcard.

Thank you very much for this. Speaking as a layperson (!), would plugging the riser into a lower slot mean that I am opting for a lower PCIE speed?

You would have to consult the motherboard manual for PCIE lane speeds, however you will see no difference in GPU performance between a x16 or an x8 lane.
