I am currently selecting parts to build my gaming rig.
They are
Asus H87-Pro Motherboard
Intel i7 4790K CPU
2 x 8GB RAM
2 x WD Blue HDDs
SAPPHIRE R9 290-TRI-X 4GB Graphics Card
Should I get the Cooler Master V850 or Seasonic X850?

Solution

That's up to you,we've already told that for one gpu 650watts is enough so you probably could save a little, imo a good choice btw.

Sorry I don't understand what is "CF" and Tiers in PSU. Please tell me about it?

CF means Crossfire, meaning having 2 same model GPUs in 1 MoBo. If you wanna add another R9 290 in future to increase performance, you'd need 800W+ PSU, otherwise a 600W+ would do.

A single GPU takes ~250W power on full load, so a 600W+ PSU from a reliable brand like Antec/ EVGA/ SeaSonic/ XFX will be enough. But if you wish to CF (Crossfire) In future, the combined wattage of 2 GPUs would be become 500W and so 800W+ PSU will be good.

Tier means quality. Both the A850W and X850W are tier 1, meaning the higher quality PSU and will handle a CF of R9 290. But you don't need such high quality and wattage PSUs for a single GPU, so a 600W+ PSU from the mentioned brands would be enough and you'd save some bucks there, which can be utilized somewhere else.

But it says that a 750W power supply is needed

With just one card is 650watts enough. If the price difference isn't that big just get the 850watts you gave as choice. With 850watts could you do crossfire.
The question of Blackbird is a good one.He will look for the best for the best price if you want to.

Should I just get the Seasonic x750?

That's a little different than with what you started with. As said get a good 650watt for one card and if you want to go for crossfire in the future get a good 850watt.If the cooler master is the really cheaper one just get that one. Here in Holland for instance is the cooler master the really cheaper option.

If you don't go for crossfire, but the price difference between a V700 or X650 and for instance the 750watt versions (for cooler master is there no 750watt (or you must be looking at the semi modular ones=vsm, still good units) isn't that big is it up to you to decide to for which one,but you really don't need 750watts with just one gpu.

If the price differenc is good would i just go for the cooler master psu. They have a bad rep here on the forum, but they also make good psu's.They just had/have their (really) bad series, but so does corsair for instance (if you read enough about the cx for instance, actually not that bad, just not that good either).

Ok lets say if I were to pick the Cooler Master V 650, it would be semi-modular. The Cooler Master V series 750W and lower are semi-modular. Is there any difference between a modular and a semi-modular PSU?

The main differenc is that with a semi modular the 24pin and 8pin cpu cabel are permanently attached, with the fully modular are you able to take them off,but you need the 24 and 8pin so imo is there no big differeence.

The other difference is that the semi modular are made by a different oem than the fully modular,
the v700/850 are made by seasonic
the vsm 650/750watt are made by,from what i remember, enhance (checked and yes).
Those made by seasonic are just better, but the other ones are still very good.

Two reviews about either line,

For just a single card build would that vsm 650watt be a good choice.

Ok thanks:)
I think I will just go with a Cooler Master V750
